yep... pretty hardcore, remember most steep segments can be bypassed by bike, but by foot it's a pretty long way around, they went towards Babele...

Check this out, the really narly parts of the trail can be bypassed, the only thing is that in order to get to the start you have to get down by rope 20 meters, but from there on it's pure DH. take a look at the link, the pics have mostly been taken on the trail i'm talking about, but some of them were on sidepaths so dont worry, http://dumitrelmarius.blogspot.com/2009/10/valea-seaca-dintre-clai.html
